August 2023 Release Notes

We're excited to share these highlights from our upcoming August 19th release of Projector by BigTime.

Deferred Revenue visible on the web and in reports

A new deferred revenue landing page now shows the deferred revenue balance and the history of adjustments that have impacted that balance for each Contract Line Item (CLI). In addition, a new "deferred revenue adjustment" report type has been added to audit changes to deferred revenue. Report on opening balances, milestone invoices, applied prepayments, revenue recognition, and transfers. Filter to all transfers, inter-engagement transfers, and inter-currency transfers.

A fast follower to this release will be the ability to transfer deferred revenue balances between contract line items. This is most often used when a prepaid contract has remaining value that needs to be transferred to another contract. Initiate transfers from the Contract Line Item (CLI) search page by specifying a source CLI, destination CLI, and transfer amount. Projector handles all the associated GL transactions, FX, and balance information for you.

Smartsheet integration for task planning

The Smartsheet integrated task management within Projector web is now out of Beta and ready for general audiences. A rich, bidirectional integration between Smartsheet and Projector provides Gantt charts, Kanban boards, and numerous advanced project management features for your PM teams.

Smartsheet data drives tasks shown in time entry, scheduled hours on roles, performance to task budget and task schedule for project managers, invoicing for finance, and reports for everyone. Check out our recent demo recording - Smartsheet integrated task management demo (12 minutes)

The integration requires a single, business class Smartsheet license. PMs and resources would need a free, individual Smartsheet license. Already using Smartsheet? Great, bring your existing Smartsheet data into Projector today.

Manage Resource Info on the Web

The resource landing page introduced in our May 2023 release has been enhanced to manage the following resource attributes directly in the web:

• upload resumes and use them with SmartMatch

• review and edit a resource's schedule

• enter, approve, and reject skill changes

• edit resource User Defined Fields

BI dashboards display content related to the logged in user.

Request Time Off

When resource's request time off they'll be treated with a revamped and easier to use interface. Resources can easily see balances by reason, request time off, and review time off history. Data is available for last year, this year, and now next year too.

Redesigned resource profile page

The resource profile page has been redesigned with a modern layout and to more accurately reflect the status of pending skill changes.

• PwsSaveProject - Include a new property on the request, namely a complex object of new type SmartsheetLinkSubject. That object itself has two basic properties:

  • Type: the one-character string "type" of smartsheet link to make one of the following:

    • S: Sheet. This assumes that the Id field references a sheet. That sheet will be copied, and the copy will be linked to for the Smartsheet Link.

    • H: Hotlink. This assumes that the Id field references a sheet that is not linked to another project. In this case, the sheet is NOT copied, but linked to directly.

    • T: Template. This assumes that the Id field references a template which is used as the seed to create a new sheet, which will be lined to for the Smartsheet Link.

  • Id: the 64 bit long-integer reference to either a sheet or template to go along with the type above.

• PwsGetResourcePto response has been updated with new parameters:

  • Added AccruedMinutesPriorToEndOfYear (int?) to ScheduledTimeOffFuture (PwsScheduledTimeOffPto)

  • Added TimeOffMinutesPriorToEndOfYear (int?) to ScheduledTimeOffFuture (PwsScheduledTimeOffPto)

  • Added AvailablePtoBalanceMinutesAtEndOfYear (int?) to ScheduledTimeOffFuture (PwsScheduledTimeOffPto)

  • Added AvailableMinutesAtCutoffDate (int?) to TimeOffReasons (PwsTimeOffReasonPto)

  • Added YearToDateConsumedMinutes (int?) to TimeOffReasons (PwsTimeOffReasonPto)
